Hand Balling Trout - 9th - 11th July 2010 |
Yet again my weekend started with a chilled Friday at home - however this time it was forced since I'd been man down with flu for the past couple of days. Things got going on Saturday though, starting with a very domestic visit to the farmer's basket. Rather than the usual breakfast run we actually bought a basket and did some fresh produce shopping - My word I'm getting old! Next week I'd better get my coffee from the guy who adds brandy! *insert manly grunt here* Luckily the market was followed by a more manly activity - Tri-Nations Rugby. Having said that, after the Bok's dismal display against the All Blacks, maybe I should've stayed at the market. I might've run into a few of the players. Ok, so up until this point it had been a pensioner like and very disappointing morning. And since I clearly couldn't count on the Boks to lift my spirits, I took matters into my own hands with a trip to the squash courts. Once there John was kind enough to put me out of my misery with a cunningly placed racket to the face. This served multiple purposes...firstly I instantly forgot about the Boks loss, and secondly, I felt a hell of a lot more manly with a newly formed horn sticking out of my forehead. In fact, having never had a black eye, I was getting quite excited at the possibility of one. Sadly this body of mine must be made from steel and it didn't bruise. I don't know if that’s good or bad?...well, I guess it’s a good thing. |

(Sharks result omitted due to the suckiness of my sports teams this weekend) Vision slightly blurred and looking manly, Sharon and I headed up to Nick's place for a braai and a couple of brandies. All in all a good day, ending with us watching some very weird Japanese show at around 12am. The plan for Sunday had been a fishing trip for Nick's birthday, but WeatherSA (those bastards) had predicted cold fronts and Armageddon so we'd called it off. Then an amazing thing happened, we woke up to the most beautiful day. WOW! They'de gotten it wrong...when has that ever happened before (where's the sarcasm font?). Anyway, Nick gave me a call and we ended up heading for the dam at 9am. The girls joined us and picnicked on the side of the damn while Nick and I went about missing fish after fish. I suppose the good news is that there were fish around, and after missing 2 or 3 fish each, we eventually both landed one which ended Nick's dry spell with the club. In fact, Nick's fish was one of the most amusing fishing experiences I've had in some time. We were both bobbing on the water in our tubes, a few meters apart, when Nick hooked into a fish directly under me. The fish headed straight for the surface, putting in a good jump just behind me. This resulted in Nick's line tangling with my fins and waders as the fish fought bravely. The fish then cunningly swam circles around me, while I fought it in the manliest way possible...with my bare hands. Nick meanwhile was eating a sandwich...I think...ok, I dunno, I was fighting the fish minus a rod so I didn't have time to look at what he was doing. Eventually I untangled myself, and was about to land the fish with my hands when I realised it was Nick's birthday, so I let him put away his sandwich and land the fish himself. What a catch! Bwahaaaa! By this time the wind was picking up nicely, so after a picnic and another short fish we headed home. On the way we stopped at Tarryn's ballies new place in Camperdown. It’s a beautiful new complex with a full on nature reserve - complete with poachers. In fact, they're even putting elephant in. I can't believe it. We got home just before 5pm, with the plan to either head to the Keg or Robyn and Wayne's to watch the World Cup Soccer finals. However after sorting out a few things around the house, and vegging on the couch (with my adopted cat), there was no ways I was getting back up. This turned out to be a good thing, as the final absolutely sucked. Yes my team (Ho-land) lost, but in truth the soccer was really just bad. I mean a record number of cards handed out...come on. And I guess that’s it, no more Soccer World Cup...back to real life... |

Rupture Rapture! - 7th & 8th July 2010 |
As you may have noticed from the two sloppy blog entries below, I've fallen a bit behind with my blogging. This is mostly due to a mountain of work, but being off sick for 2 days certainly hasn't helped. The flu I'd felt on Sunday morning had finally gotten the better of me and, on Wednesday morning, just 2 hours after arriving at work, I was in the car heading home. Now I know exactly what went wrong...karma. On Tuesday night Sharon and I watched the Holland Uruguay semi-final on the big screen (in 3D nogal). The only problem...no beer. Don't get me wrong, it was an awesome experience, second only to being at the stadium, but when watching sport you simply have to drink beer. Since I watched this game with a coke and popcorn the universe decided to punish me with flu. Damn you karma, damn you! Anyway, back to the story...While driving up Fields Hill both my ears blocked up. Grrr! By the time evening rolled 'round the one ear was giving me big problems and I was in a fair amount of pain. I tried everything I could think of to unblock it, but nothing helped. Eventually I fell asleep, but my ear was still blocked when I woke up the following morning. I opted to spend the day at home getting over this pesky flu thing, and spent the first part of the morning moping on the coach. And then...YAY...my ear popped and all was good again. Or so I thought... My ear started to feel a bit warm and moist, so I poked my finger into it, and when it came out it was covered in blood. FAIL! Now I was a bit nervous and decided to head to the doctor. |
This is when I discovered how long it'd been since I last saw my doctor. When I walked in he asked me if I was new to the area?! WTF! Nice doctor! Anyway, turns out I hadn't been to him since I was at school, and he eventually worked out who I was, so I guess he's forgiven. The prognosis...I'd ruptured my ear drum. Luckily he tells me it’s a small hole and should just heal over, so I'm cotton-wooling it for the next few days. But this has me nervous. It seems my new hobby is rupturing things...
and since bad things come in threes, I find myself quite nervous. I'm taking bets on what'll be next to go... |
Guest House #2 - 2nd - 4th July 2010 |
After having the Americans last weekend, it was time for more foreigners to stay with us...Richardsbayians. Sharon's sister and kids had been in Durban for the week and decided to come and stay with us over the weekend. I got home before them on Friday and quickly took the last chance I had for some peace and quiet...I hit the Plantation's bar to watch Holland (my new favourite team due to their hot female supporters...I mean skilled players) take on Brazil in a quarter finals. Expecting to be disappointed it turned into the best game of the world cup with Holland managing a 2-1 win. Go you beauties! And even better...once Brazil found themselves behind they absolutely lost the plot. Hup hup Holland! The next few hours where spent at home with Sharon's sister and the kids, before I hid away to watch a very long and disappointing Ghana game. The score was 1-1 up until the last minute when Ghana took a shot which would've been a goal, had it not been for a blatant hand ball by YourAGay. Sadly, due to the fact that cheating is smiled upon in soccer, this resulted in Ghana getting knocked out. Yes I know the ref followed the rules, and I know that it’s probably Ghana's fault for missing the penalty, but the truth of the matter is that YourAGay cheated, and are into the semis as a result. |

Saturday started off with a trip to the farmers market for breakfast, where we met up with Sharon's mom and aunt. From there we all headed over to the Duck and Deck so that the kids could play with the animals. This involved the kids going on a horse cart ride while I got chased by a very angry looking Emu...dam you shiny camera! From the Duck and Deck we headed up Botha's Hill to an exotic pet store which had the most amazing reptiles. If you haven't been there, I'd definitely recommend it. This was more my scene, and I certainly took advantage of it by scaring Sharon's aunt with a cunningly timed tickle on the neck while she was looking at the spider display. Ah, good times... I then took my official time-out card and headed down to squash. I played half an hour with Duncan and then got onto the court with Chris for an hour. It was great to be back on the court with a good player, and I loved every minute of it. This was of course followed by soccer at the Lemon, a couple beers, and a few of the world’s most evil drink...Captain Morgan. I say evil because they make it very difficult to leave, and that was just what I needed to do. When I got home it was time for the world’s most mammoth Snakes and Ladders competition. I've become the world’s most brillaint cheat since clearly it doesn't matter if you win or lose, but there are a lot of tears if you don't go up the HUGE ladder. This saw me cunning moving pieces and flipping over dice until both the kids had gone up it. I woke up on Sunday feeling a bit flu-ish. We dropped off Sharon's sister and kids at Annette's place where Sharon's mom was waiting for them. Sharon and I then headed over to the Pav for a bit of shopping before heading home for the normal Sunday afternoon relaxation. All in all another good weekend. |
Americana! - 24th - 27th June 2010 |
With friends staying with me from America it was bound to be a big weekend...and it didn't disappoint. Matt and Aleka (please excuse me if I spelt that incorrectly) arrived on Thursday evening and the four of us headed to the Keg and Trout to meet up with Briggsy and Robyn. Oh, and for those of you who don't know (and do care), Matt is a mate from UCT who's been living in LA for the last 6 years. Dinner started off quietly with good food and a few beers. Sadly Robyn and Briggsy had to leave after dinner, but they must've been holding us back (kidding guys), cause that's when the shit hit the fan. We finished watching the 8pm World Cup game, and then headed over to On Cue for a few games of pool. Clearly America is a country of beer pong, as Sharon and I did some serious ass kicking. We did have to laugh though as the 4 of us sat listening to the guys at the table next to us making sweeping statements like, "In America you don't pay per game, you rent the table in 15 minute segments." This didn't go down to well with the Americans, but we just giggled (sorry, manly rauchus laughter to ourselves. We eventually made it home at around 2am which didn't bode to well for work the next day, but hey, you only live once...or in my case, probably half. |
Friday night saw us feeling a bit tender, and since SABC 1 had decided to go on strike, we ended up in the La Piazza pub watching Spain kick some serious ass. Other than that it was a fairly early night, but we had to be fully prepared for the weekend. Saturday morning was a slow start for us, and we eventually made it over to the Pot and Kettle for a good breakfast overlooking the Valley of 1000 Hills. Due to the smog it looked more like the Valley of 3 Hills, but it was spectacular none the less. From there Sharon and I headed off to squash, and Matt and Aleka headed for Durban. Squash was of course followed with a trip to the Lemon to watch SA crush Italy (clearly last week's low margin win was due to me not supporting). From there it was a quick trip back up the hill to pick up Matt and Aleka. The four of us enjoyed a quick bunny chow at a local Indian take-away before heading back down the hill to Briggsy's place to watch Ghana take on the USA. Ghana, being Africa's last hope, taking on the USA, being where Matt and Aleka are from, was bound to be an interesting event. True enough it was, and after a great win for Africa, the normal religious debate, and a few Tequilas we hit the dart board. Another great evening...check! Sunday was once again a slow start. Sharon had to work while the rest of us chilled at home, waiting for her to bring us back a good breakfast. This of course meant one thing...McDonalds...both my favourite and home grown food for the Americans. Then it was time to say goodbye to Matt and Aleka as they drove back to Joburg, only to fly straight to Cape Town. The rest of our weekend was spent relaxing in front of the TV, getting ready for another work week. *Sigh* |
Another World Cup Weekend! - 18th - 20th June 2010 |
It was an awesome weekend, with the highlight definitely being the World Cup game we attended on Saturday. After not managing to procure any tickets for myself, I was beaming from ear to ear after my mom phoned me during my Saturday morning trip to the farmers market. I gulped down my falafel and headed home to get ready for the event. This involved digging through my cupboard for a very mank smelling orange shirt. A few squirts of deodorant later and Sharon and I were on our way to pick up my mom and sister. A HUGE thank you to the Beaumonts who were kind enough to donate us the tickets. World Cup Day started with a trip to the teddy bear shop...yes, you heard me. Apparently since we were in the area we had to stop off to pick up some bear patterns. I however spent the time bonding with the giant world cup bear on the doorstep. From there we headed for Suncoast which I decided would be the best place to park. Due to some irritating road closures this was far more complicated than expected, and we spent 45 minutes winding back and forth in heavy traffic. At this point, even though we had 2 hours to kick off and were 35 meters from the stadium, my mom broke into a panic swearing that we would never make it. We did! |
After lightening my pockets thanks to the R50 parking we headed for the stadium where we collected out tickets. By the time we entered the ground my lungs were burning - yes, I'd done some premature vuvuzela blowing. We bought some R30 Budweisers and took our seats. They were fantastic (the seats that is), situated on the halfway line about 10 rows back. BRILLIANT! The first half was amazing, and I have to say, soccer is far more impressive live than it is on TV. At half time the score was 0-0 and I headed for the beer queue - this was to be my downfall. While Sharon queued for the toilet a cute Netherlandese girl joined the queue next to me. We started chatting and there was a bit of accidental flirting. Unbeknownst to me, Sharon could see the whole thing from her queue. EPIC FAIL! Sadly I was still in the queue when the second half started, and therefore missed the only goal of the match, which was scored roughly 5 minutes into the second half as I was getting served (by Sharon and the beer maids). After the soccer we headed back to Suncoast where we decided to sit out the rush by doing some strategic gambling. Sharon was kind enough to win me back my parking money, but sadly she didn't do well enough to win me back my beer money. My mom also ended up winning while Kerry wasn't so lucky. Then it was off home since Kerry was meeting some mates. Sharon, my mom and I headed for the Keg where we had a great meal while watching the 8pm game. The other weekend days were also busy - We watched Toy Story 3 (in 3D), played some shocking mashie golf, and did some other things too... What an awesome weekend! |
World Cup Weekend! - 11th - 13th June 2010 |
The weekend started with a bang! We finished work at lunch time and all headed for the canteen which had been converted to a fan park. The World Cup opening ceremony was on at 2pm so we all watched as South Africa showed the world what we're made of. It was rather impressive, and I especially enjoyed the Dung Beatle doing its thing with the Jabulani ball. Is this a hint at the quality of the ball? Was it approved by FIFA? And do they even know what a Dung Beatle is? After the opening ceremony we headed for the car park where we had various competitions running. There was foosball, a fake diving competition, a vuvuzela blowing volume meter, dribbling, shooting, one bounce and more. At risk of another snapped Achilles I showed some dedication and in a spectacular fake dive, but sadly the judges did not agree, and I ended up with a score of 4 out of 5. From there it was off to meet some mates for the opening game - Bafana vs Mexico. There was excitement in the air as the Dead Sea of frozen margaritas were consumed (yes, they were so salty a human body would literally float on top). Bafana was first on the board and roaring vuvuzelas could be heard from all the surrounding houses. Sadly, with around 10 minutes to go, Mexico equilised and the game ended at 1-1. Not the best result, but the boys did us proud, and a draw is better than a loss. |
At this point the Tequila came out in full force as we started our own World Cup...of darts. How is it that a game comprised of throwing pointed metal objects became associated with drunken men? Saturday was fairly standard, with a slightly slower start than usual after the Friday night festivities. Due to the Boks playing at 2pm we hit the squash courts at 12 for a few games. From there it was up to the Lemon where the Boks crushed France. Go SA! Sharon worked on Sunday so I got assigned the fun tasks of the weekly shop, the laundry, etc. The good news is that when Sharon got home all was done, and we were able to grab the clubs and head to the Mashie course for a shocker of a round. Either way, it was great fun. FEEL IT! IT IS HERE! (Oh shit, now I owe FIFA money) |
NFFC's Newest Member Gets Taught A Lesson - 4th - 6th June 2010 |
It was a fairly stock standard weekend for me starting with a relaxed Friday night. Thursday night had been exciting as I played my first league squash game in about 8 months. Sadly it was short lived as the lights went out during the second game. After realising they weren't coming back on in a hurry, we headed back to Westville and had dinner and a "few" beers. Saturday saw me back at the squash club playing Tony. It was good to play somebody who has good fundamentals as it allowed me to get my ducks back in a row (to some degree anyway). This was of course followed by a trip to the Twisted Lemon to watch SA take on Wales. There was a minor shock as we walked into the pub as everything seemed backwards. On the one TV Bafana Bafana were kicking Denmark's ass 1-0. And sadly on the other TV, SA were down against Wales. Luckily it turned into a good day for South Africa as Bafana Bafana won the soccer and the Springboks defeated the Welsh. Sunday was yet again spent showing Nick how to catch fish in the 'berg; Nick had joined the NFFC during the week and was eager to test out some of his new waters. We opted to fish a venue in the Kamberg area called Uitzicht. This venue offered 2 dams - a larger one which you were allowed tubes on, and a smaller, heavily weeded dam which had to be fished from the bank. I managed to produce a nice Rainbow in the larger dam, which certain had a lot of promise but didn't fish well on the day. The smaller dam sadly wasn't as productive. It looks like a great water with a lot of weed in it, and is probably best fished with a floating line. Sadly two things caused us problems here. Firstly cows had been drinking and the water was churned up and muddy. And secondly, we both had intermediate lines on which made fishing amongst the weed very tricky. As a result we opted to move on to a second venue called Bracken waters, which was just around the corner. It was a large dam and looked great from the bank. Sadly we had a minor fail here as Nick rushed for the water, snagging his tube on a barb wire fence on the way. It seemed ok at first, but as we made our way into the water it became very obvious that he was sinking. Bwahaaa. This gave me a good chance to catch more fish while he sulked...or so I thought. |
The dam is heavily weeded near the car park, and I had to push my way through 50 to 60 meters of weed to make it into open water. When I finally got there I felt guilty, and decided to head back. Not wanting to go back through the weed I tried a different route, which ended up having even more weed. I ended up on the wall and began the walk back to the car, which resulted in another fail - I was now on the wrong side of the barbed wire fence. Not wanting to risk my tube I got back into the water and made my way through more weed back to the start. This was enough exercise for us, so we nailed a few Laurentinas and then headed home. Next weekend...WORLD CUP BABY! |
Comrades Weekend - 28th - 30th May 2010 |
The weekend started with a trip to the Pavilion to watch a movie. Sharon and I met up with Nick and Tazz at the ticket counter, and after a quick look at what was showing, we opted for a game of 10 pin bowling instead. After hitting only 1 pin (phew) with my first ball, I quickly realised that Wii bowling had not improved my game *shock, horror*. In fact I'm very embarrassed to say that we all sucked, with Nick proving to be the best of a bad bunch and kicking all our asses. Bowling was followed by dinner at Primi Pavilion. Nick and I got things going by ordering their jam jars. Basically it’s a cocktail, served in a large jam jar (I'm guessing 1 liter), containing everything behind the bar mixed with your choice of juice. The strawberry and litchi flavours rocked. Dinner was somewhat disappointing, with the pizza being oily and limp, and not looking even remotely like the pictures on the table. They certainly weren't up to the high standards of Primi Polo. Saturday was fairly standard - squash, rugby and beers. A Big up to the Bulls (GRRR!) for taking their third Super 14 in four years. Sadly I was rooting for the Stormers, but hey, rather a South African side than anyone else. Sunday for me was the usual (annual) sulking day. Basically I sit and watch all the runners pass with a big frown on my face. And to make matters worse, it got off to a ropey start when Sharon got a flat tyre on her way to work. I rushed out and changed it for her, but due to the Comrades I pretty much got stuck and it took me closed to an hour to find a sneaky way home. After a quick breakfast it was off roadside where I waited for Bruce and took photos of the Hillcrest runners. Things were far more festive than in previous years, and the Vuvuzela had made a very obvious appearance thanks to the world cup. But the runners were loving it and it was a great day out. Bruce and Brad came through exactly on schedule, and they were looking good. Sadly it turned out that they missed 10:50 and ran an 11:10. Still a very good effort for Bruce's first attempt. All in all a good weekend, and it really inspired me to get back onto the road as soon as I can. afternoon. |
Walkies! - 21st - 23rd May 2010 |
Friday night was Sharon and my two year anniversary, so we headed to Joop's Place to celebrate. The place had changed a lot since I was last there, but it was the same Joop cooking the same fantastic steak. Sharon ordered a Holendse Beefstuk while I had a Pepper Steak. WOW! If you're a steak lover and haven't been there I certainly recommend you put this on top of your to do list. It's not cheap at around R120 per steak, but it leaps and bounds ahead of what you'll get everywhere else. Joop was a former butcher, and he personally selects and cuts all the meat. He also cooks every steak himself, at a bar in the front of the restaurant, where you can sit with a drink and chat to him while watching your steak being prepared. After a fantastic dinner we headed over to Waxies for Robyn's birthday. We had a couple of drinks and ended up heading home at around 12pm. Saturday morning was fairly relaxed, followed by another afternoon on the squash court. I'm glad to say that the Achilles is still holding up well, and I'm getting back into the swing of things rather quickly. Squash was of course followed by rugby at the Twisted Lemon. The Bulls played a fantastic semi final (at Orlando stadium) to knock out the ever threatening Crusaders. This was followed by the Stormers winning their semi-final to set up a historic, all South African, Super 14 final. |

On Sunday morning we headed down to Durban for the ECR Big Walk. The plan was to park at the finish and then catch a bus back to the start; It seemed like a good idea until we arrived and realised their planning was possibly not what it should've been. The parking lot had a single entrance, with each car having to stop, pay their R10, wait for change, etc. As a result we queued for ages to get into the parking. We then walked to the bus stop where the queue was mammoth, and there was not even a single bus in sight. After waiting a while we realised that we were never going to make it to the start in time. This saw us walking back to the car, and then battling traffic to get out the parking lot. As I said, there was only one gate, and everyone was trying to get in. How these people made the start, I don't know. Anyway, when we eventually made it out we headed to uShaka where the race kicked off. Thankfully it seemed most people had opted to park at the finish, and we found a spot easily. The start of the race was also chaotic, with somewhere in the region of 18 000 people taking part in the 4 four events. We were walking the 10km which seemed like the most popular choice. The 9am start became a 9:15 start, which was rather annoying. I am however guessing that this had something to do with the millions of people stuck at the finish due to the lack of buses. After the gun went off it took us another 10 minutes to cross the start line, but after we got going and made our way out of the masses (which took us 2kms), it really was a great event. The new beachfront is looking fantastic so a big thumbs up to all involved. Sadly it's not looking like it's going to be finished for 2010, but it's close and is looking far better than it was. Sharon and I gave the walk horns and managed to reach the finish in 1:31, 1 minute slower than I was hoping for. This did work out to 9min/km, so I was happy since it was a walk and not a run. Then came the part I was dreading. Since we'd parked at the finish we'd now have to queue for buses to get back to the start. But low and behold, thanks to a speedy finish and most people parking at the end, we got onto the first bus without queuing and were on our way to the start within 5 minutes. It felt great to have been back on the road. Even if it was only a 10km walk, it was better than nothing. And that was pretty much it for the weekend, a more sporty one than I've had in quite some time...WOOHOO! |
Bahas Back! - 14th - 16th May 2010 |
The weekend got off to a good start with a prawn braai and the Sharks game. It was Clinton's birthday so we met up at his place and Webered some cockroaches of the sea while the Sharks kicked the Force's ass. Sadly, even though the Sharks won 7 or their last 8 games, they couldn't recover from their initial 5 losses and this was therefore their last game of the tournament. Well, at least the prawns made up for it. Saturday once again saw me on the squash court, this time taking on John, to further test the durability of my crocheted Achilles. We played for 50 minutes and ended up at 2 all although, I must admit, he was looking rather relaxed while I was feeling like hell and sweating like a Zimbabwean amidst xenophobic attacks. After that we watched Adrian Hansen in the finals of the KZN closed and had a few beers. From the club we headed over to Sharon's uncle's place since her mom and dad were down from Richardsbay. Andre put together an awesome chicken curry potjie, while the rest of us chatted and watched the rugby. This was followed by my favorite pudding (the Malva type) before we headed home to get a semi early night. I dragged myself out of bed at 4:30 on Sunday, stiff from squash, and headed for Giants Castle where Nick and I were fished the Bushmans River. After a quick coffee stop, and shortly after that a quick toilet stop, we made it to the river. We kitted up and then got down to the serious business of dominating the wild browns. I've written a full report on the day's fishing here. |
The one thing I neglected in that fishing report is how Nick managed to save his balls. On our way down to the river Nick realised he was still wearing his wedding band, took it off, and slipped it into one of his fly jacket's pockets. We made our way up the river during which time he checked it on several occasions. However after lunch, on our way back down to the river, he realised it was gone. F@#$! We checked the pocket - there were no holes and the zip was firmly closed. All we could think of was that it fell out when he took out the camera, which was in the same pocket. This left the ring somewhere in the Bushmans River. Anyway, we finished fishing and when we got back to the car we looked around on the floor. And then, just as we were about to give up, Nick kicked a leaf, and low and behold it was underneath. What a reLEAF! Okay, excuse the bad pun. PUNish me. Oh shit, there I go again. Anyway, who knows how the hell it got there, but it certainly saved his ass. So after a great day’s fishing it was off home, which I eventually got to at around 7, just in time to have a shower, eat and watch some TV. What a great day and weekend. |
Yawn Weekend - 7th - 9th May 2010 |
It was a relatively slow weekend for various reasons. I suppose one of them sneaks up on you every now and then and, even though it isn't eventful, you enjoy it and feel refreshed afterwards. Saturdays highlight for me was another day on the squash court. Due to odd numbers Sharon, Colin and I played three to a court, which meant my Achilles got the odd break between points. Having said that, it seems to be holding up well and I don't think it needed them. I may not be ready for 3rd division squash, but maybe I can start getting back into things. After squash we headed home, which meant missing the Sharks game, and basically had a very chilled night. Sunday also turned out to be surprising relaxed. The original plan was to fish with mates, but after phoning several it became clear that this wasn't going to happen. Sharon was working so I was left at home alone and I took the opportunity to catch up on the processing of some photos...oh, and it gave me lots of time to play with my newly adopted kitty. Since it was mother’s day my mom and sister came around for a braai in the evening. It was a chilled affair with a few drinks and some thick pieces of meat. This of course was followed by much laughter as we watched my mom trying to perfect Wii bowling. Let’s hope I can get out to a river next weekend. |
